Midlan Infrared (IR) Lamps

We supply short wave and medium wave lamps for all Midlan infrared (IR) dryers, used in many small to medium sized offset presses. The company name is often spelled incorrectly as "Midland". Many users are telling us that Midlan appears to be out of business and that their phone lines are no longer working.

Midlan Short Wave Infrared (IR) Lamps

Midlan/Accutron IR

There are two common short wave IR lamps used in Midlan dryers, one in 1,000 watts and one in 2,000 watts.  Some systems use a mixture of the two.  They both have rectangular ceramic block fittings, with wire leads.  The lamps are 3/8 inches in diameter and have an external white reflector.  Both are rated at 235 - 240 volts.

Common part numbers include:
QIH 2K 240 (2,000 watts) • QIH 1K 240 (1,000 watts)

Midlan Medium Wave Infrared (IR) Lamps

Midlan Medium Wave Lamp

The most common Midlan standard medium wave lamps have a ceramic end cap and a metal overtab. A hooked wire protruding from the cap is used to make the electrical connection. Pairs of these lamps are typically wired in series, so if one lamp goes out, the other will go out as well.  We can make almost any Midlan medium wave lamp, but do to the manner in which Midlan operated, the technical specifications seem to vary even for lamps supplied with the same part number.
